When teaching fourth grade, Katharine found it difficult to books with low maturity and high readability for her students. Inspired by a lack of these types of books, Katharine created her own.

Inspired by her upbringing, Katharine brings to life, the story of Will, a 9-year old boy from Sherman Oaks, California, who must travel to Strongsville, Ohio to live with his grandparents for the summer. The events of that summer have Will questioning all that he knew about his late father and his family's involvement.

This book is perfect for older elementary students looking for a modern novel.
